Thomas P. Costard was born in 1968 in Oberhausen/Germany. Before his Law studies he trained as industrial business management assistant at the Siemens AG. He was employed for three and a half years as software engineer at this company.
In the range of this employment he was responsible for the conception, programming, testing and documentation of software within the managerial accounting as well as for the training of staff members in this field. In connection to this employment he studied legal science in Erlangen/Germany where he also had his legal clerkship.
Already during his legal studies he acted nationwide as lecturer for operating systems and application software for industries, banks and insurance companies. Till today, he holds seminars about the topics IT law and data protection. His seminar clients are counted among E.ON Bayern, Cisco Systems, Nürnberger Initiative für Kommunikationswirtschaft (Nuremberg Initiative for communication economy), big cities and communities as well as different academies.
He functions as external data protection commissioner as well as IT security officer for companies.
